In Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3, one of the main quests is to enter the Temple of Bhaal. However, before you can do that, you’ll need to uncover the truth behind a series of murders taking place in Baldur’s Gate. The quest to investigate the murders can be initiated at various points in the game, but it’s an integral part of your journey. So, let’s dive into the details!
Investigate the Murders (Or Commit Some More) 🕵️♀️💀
To gain entry to the Temple of Bhaal, you’ll first need to acquire the Amulet of Bhaal. The path to obtaining this coveted item involves meeting with the Murder Tribunal. Here’s a condensed version of the steps you need to follow:
- Find the Bloodstained Parchment at one of the murder sites in the South Span of Wyrm’s Rock or the Lower City.
- Visit Cora Highberry and warn her about the impending danger.
- Confront the murderer, Figaro Pennygood.
- Take the murderer’s “handbag” to Candulhallow’s Tombstones and locate the hidden button behind a painting.
- Use the murderer’s hands to gain an audience with the Murder Tribunal.
- Make the decision to either kill the Tribunal (brace yourself for Orin’s wrath) or become an Unholy Assassin to obtain the Amulet of Bhaal.
Keep in mind that if you choose to kill the Tribunal, Orin may not be too pleased, but you’ll have some time before she takes her revenge. Perform as many long rests as you need to regroup and prepare for what’s coming next.
Where To Find The Entrance To The Temple Of Bhaal 🚪🧙♂️
Getting to the entrance of the Temple of Bhaal is no easy task. To start your journey, head to the sewers below the Lower City. There are multiple entrances on the west side of the region, mostly round sewer entrances. Once inside, you’ll come across two locked doors in the Guild hideout that lead to the rest of the sewer system.
To find the entrance to the temple, venture to the north of the sewer region, near a waypoint called “Undercity.” Look out for a paving stone with circular blood drops, the symbol of Bhaal. This is where you’ll find the large stone door, the gateway to the Temple. Don’t bother picking the lock – the door will only respond to the presence of the Amulet of Bhaal. However, don’t be surprised if it asks for further proof of your faith. Remember, this is Bhaal’s domain, and sometimes devotion comes in the form of murder.
